Read a 1999 report on Irving Moskowitz and Hawaiian Gardens by Coalition coordinator Jane Hunter.
Document substitution gives Moskowitz an opportunity
to stop paying casino revenue taxes to Hawaiian Gardens.
The
Coalition for Justice in Hawaiian Gardens and Jerusalem has obtained the
original version of the redevelopment agreement, called a DDA, that governs
Irving Moskowitz' Hawaiian Gardens casino. As you can read in The Story of
Moskowitz & Hawaiian Gardens (directly above), a substitute, Moskowitz-friendly,
DDA was substituted for the original in the moments before it was adopted.
Click here to see how they're different, and how they favor Moskowitz – especially
when it comes to the "stealth" language that will let Moskowitz stop paying
casino revenue taxes. [see DDA: Redevelopment Agreement]

In 2001 the Coalition obtained a copy of a booklet issued by the
Moskowitz law firm, Selvin Weiner and Weinberger, attempting to
deflect our charges about Moskowitz's gambling operations' abuse
of Hawaiian Gardens. Click here to see how we set the record straight
"in graphic form." [see Booklet
